Detailed Information on Technical Skills: Presently employed as a DA civilian, I continue to apply my extensive knowledge and technical abilities to the accomplishment of tasks. My skills include many and varied aspects in Information Technology. My technical abilities have been acquired through personal study, experimentation, and formal education. My experimentation with and studies of computer software, hardware and systems development have been accomplished preceding educational goals, in concurrence with technical and collegiate courses, but often to the exclusion of formal studies. Software I have researched and experimented with the application of computer software to accomplish tasks for work and pleasure. The following is a short list of software applications with which I have familiarity.
Hardware I have researched, experimented with, and performed upgrades, repair, and full computer assembly. I am currently pursuing my A+ certification. The following section describes my repair and assembly experience. WINNUX Project: Hardware modification project from scratch salvaged and purchased parts. PavGrey Project: Refit of late model computer for specific purpose - entertainment. G2 Server Project: Refit of a late model computer as a server in order to learn LAN networking with Linux and Windows 2000 server. PavlovX Project: Complete overhaul of a networked family computer PC from 533 MHz to a 2.8 GHz.computer work station. General Repair: Over six years of experience of providing technical assistance in repairing and rebuilding computers for nominal fees and cost of parts to further learning and understanding. Models include Gateway, Compaq, Hewlett Packard, Dell and AST. Network I have conducted research, experimentation and application in developing and maintaining a Networked System. I am currently pursuing my Network+ certification. The following section describes my Home Local Area Network. Home LAN supporting three to five computers running Linux (Mandrake, Redhat, SuSe), Windows 98SE, 2000, and XP (several systems are dual booted.) The system is a redundantly firewalled, wired & wireless Ethernet system through a router. The computers share an ADSL connection and serve a variety of functions to include: Print sharing, File/Internet sharing, Online Education and Experimentation, Networked Office and Productivity, Database development, Graphics and Music development, and Entertainment.
